Cuba in the summertime. The lives of three women from different backgrounds are upset at the same time. The first one, María who lives in the countryside loses her baby in unclear circumstances. The second one, Norma, is a TV evening news reader. While on the air, she refuses to read the regime’s false news and rushes to the toilets to commit suicide. The third one, Nieves, kills pigs in an illegal slaughterhouse while dreaming of becoming a cabaret dancer. Thrown out by her boss and then by her own mother, she wanders in Havana over seven days and seven nights…
