Sofia

Twenty-year old Sofia lives with her parents in Casablanca. Her father is about to begin a project linked to France that promises high returns. In denial of pregnancy, she gives birth illegally, out of wedlock. The hospital gives her just 24 hours to provide the papers of the child’s father before they alert the authorities. Now seen as the shame of the family, Sofia is forced to keep her child secret. For the family, the most important thing is to find the father and arrange a marriage as quickly as possible to save the family honour. Things get more complicated when Sofia confesses that the father is from one of the city’s poor districts.
