A Letter For an Angel
(Surat Untuk Bidadari)

Lewa is a nine-years-old boy whose mother died in a bus accident when he was a child. Lewa fervently believes in the existence of an angel who takes care of the eath as told by his school teacher. He frequently writes letters to the angel about his problems. Lewa has to come to terms with the death of his father, the suicide of his best friend Malaria Tua and the consequences of his curiosity which resulted in a terrible war between two villages. He is confronted by a local gangster called Kuda Liar who is also a great Elvis Presley fan. Kuda Liar killed the borther in-law of Malaria Tua in order to possess his wife, Berlian Merah. Lewa, who tries to question the truth, is chargent with murder. In the end, Berlian Merah, a toy angel and a poster of a confused Mikail Gorbatchev share his isolation and loneliness.
