Nineteen-year-old Yoshioka leaves his provincial town for Tokyo where he is to préparé an exam to get into university. He lives in a poor area and delivers papers to pay for his studies. In a notebook, he writes down the names and professions of the subscribers whose attitudes he dislikes.
