Young Reza is taking the train to Tehran from southern Iran to visit his relatives for the holidays. En route, he encounters an unpleasant elderly woman who is travelling alone. She initially suspects Reza and the boisterous sailors in his train compartment of stealing the German marks in her purse until the real thieves are found with Reza’s help. When Reza and the old woman arrive at the bustling Tehran station, they formally introduce themselves. The woman has corne to Tehran to fly to Germany and visit her son after sixteen years. The woman’s eye-glasses break, and she becomes dependent on Reza’s help…
