Yoseph comes from an aristocratie Ethiopian family. After university in America, he decides to return home, instilled with democratic ideals. Having joined a clandestine group opposed to the Emperor, Yoseph organises a coup to overthrow the regime but fails miserably. Thus a desperate flight begins, until he finds refuge with Dejen, one of the family servants. Two social classes come face to face in this armed struggle which, theoretically, should unite them. Yoseph will have to realise that class resentment and prejudice are not so easy to overcome.
