Kamel served his sentence in jail, but now back in Seine-Saint-Denis, his exile continues. Without papers, finding a job seems impossible despite his family’s caring support. So Kamel wanders around, listens and observes: the children playing in the square, the internal quarrels that still rattle the community of petty criminals, but above all the police cars that have mushroomed at the foot of the tower blocks and the daily racist repression that is stifling the solidarity efforts on the Bosquets estate. For his debut film, Rabah Ameur-Zaïmeche films at home, surrounded by his friends and family, and delivers a raw portrait of a housing estate and its residents struggling with a destructive social machine.
