From the rebuilding sites of Beirut cornes a voice, the voice of a woman, the voice of the city. It takes us through the maze of its memory. In the course of a sentence, it allows us into a joint, the den of Hamid the Kurd. Then Beirut stops talking and a young maie singer takes over. He sings the story of Zineb. It is a journey through legends, to the world of Ishtar and Adonis where the story of the amoral beauty of death and the magnificent joy of life is told.
