Born in Jacmel Haiti, Pierre Lucson became interested in art at the age of 7, when he was recovering from surgery. Pierre Lucson trained in filmmaking, directing, screenwriting and sound mix. His work often deals with the plight of marginalized communities and people with disabilities. Some of his short films (Handicap Man Maswife, Same Blood, The Compass) have been screened at many festivals and won awards. Currently, he is working on rewriting his first feature film, Carmen, which was presented at La Fabrique des Cinémas du Monde in Cannes in 2013.
