Born in Ogbagi-Akoko, Nigeria, Babatunde Apalowo is a director and screenwriter based in the UK. He won the Nigeria Integrity Film Awards (HomeVida) for the screenplay of the short film Lost Children and for the short film A Place of Happiness, which was also screened at several international film festivals.
In 2022, he won the AMVCA (Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards) for best editor and was nominated for an African Movie Academy Award for his work as a screenwriter.
His first feature film, All the Colours of the World Are Between Black and White, premiered at the 2023 Berlin International Film Festival, where it was nominated for the Panorama Audience Award, the GWFF Best Feature Film and won the Teddy Award for Best Feature Film. It was part of the Official Selection at the 45th Festival des 3 Continents.
