Rafaela Camelo is a director and screenwriter. She graduated in Audiovisual studies from Brasília University and post-graduated in Screenplay for Cinema and TV from Fundação Armando Álvares Penteado (FAAP). O Misterio da Carne, her short fiction film, was selected for the Sundance Film Festival 2019 (USA) and won the Best Film awards at the Festival de Biarritz Amérique Latine (France) and at the New Directors, New Films Festival (Portugal), among others. A Arte de Andar pelas ruas de Brasília was her first short film, selected at the Festival Internacional del Nuevo Cine Latinoamericano in Havana, and has received awards for best film, best script and best directing in festivals around the world. Family relationships, adolescence and sexual awakening are the themes that Rafaela explores in her work. She is currently developing her first feature, Sangue do meu Sangue, winner of the best script awards in the feature film category at BAL-LAB 2019 (France) and at the Cabíria Screenplay Award 2019 (Rio de Janeiro).
