José Pablo Escamilla, born in México in 1988, is a director, editor and screenwriter, member of the Colectivo Colmena. His first feature Mostro had its world premiere at the Locarno Film Festival in 2021, winning the Boccalino D’oro (Golden Jug), given by the Independent Critics Jury. His second feature, firedream, had its world premiere at the 2023 Venice Film Festival.
