Born in Italy in 1900, Mario Soffici left his native country at a very young age to settle in Argentina. It is with the circus that he enters the world of entertainment. He obtained a role in Rues de Buenos Aires (1934) by Ferreyra. Then he directed many films. A leading figure in Argentine cinema, he became director of the National Film Institute in 1974 and 1975. He died in Buenos Aires in 1977 leaving behind more than 40 feature films.
