Born in Istanbul in 1981. Yoel Meranda studied Industrial Engineering at Northwestern University, then moved to New York to work at the Film-makers’ Cooperative. In 2006, he worked at the distribution company Chantier Films and at the FilmClub Web-TV channels. In the meantime, he freelanced as a documentary producer at Böcek Yapım production company and as line-producer in music videos. He co-founded Kamara Film in 2011. He won the Pack & Pitch Award at the 18th Sarajevo Film Festival with Theron Patterson’s feature project Everything is OK. Yoel’s experimental videos have screened at Toronto, Edinburgh, Thessaloniki and Istanbul international film festivals.
