Orkhan Aghazadeh was born in 1988 in Azerbaijan. His first short documentary, A Letter to Lenin, was presented at the Leipzig International Film Festival. His graduation short film at the London Film School, The Chairs, was shown at numerous festivals and won several awards in 2018. His feature-length fiction project The Prisoner was the first Azerbaijani project to be selected by the Résidence de la Cinéfondation at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival. Selected for Visions du Réel in Nyon in 2024, The Return of the Projectionist is his first feature-length documentary.
