Originally named DENG Xiaoxi, YUAN Qing is a Chinese female director and editor, graduated from Direction Department of Beijing Film Academy. Her graduation piece, short film Human Vessel relates a female director’s intimate soliloquy by employing the special editing technique of fragmentation and multi-layering. The film is infused with personal style and gets selected for more than ten film festivals worldwide including the Dortmund | Cologne International Women’s Film Festival, Macau International Movie Festival, SEOUL International Women’s Film Festival and Beijing International Film Festival. She is also one of the editors of Mr. No Problem, a black-and-white film directed by MEI Feng, which won Best Artistic Contribution Award at the 29th Tokyo International Film Festival. Three Adventures of Brooke is YUAN Qing’s debut feature as writer-director.
