Film projects promoters from Jumpstart workshop are accompanied after their first workshop experience online. They will be invited to take part of a second step-workshop initiated by partnership DFM and Produire au Sud, supported by DEENTAL – ACP and the CNC (Centre National du Cinéma et de l’Image Animée).
This follow-up aims at developing the artistic proposal of each film project as well as their production strategy so they can strengthen their application to Durban FilmMart program 2023 or any other international coproduction platform.
This year follow-up is structured in 2 different steps:
– November 8-10, 2022 : focus on Script development
– Early March 2023 : focus on production strategy and Marketing/Packaging improvment (including a public pitch presentation)
Participants will be invited to work with professional mentors scriptwriters, producer, sale agent and pitch expert who will provide individualized meetings.
To help professionals is one of the main mission of the CNC and its two partners, FOPICA (Senegal) and DOCUBOX (Kenya). Through the DEENTAL-ACP program, series, short and feature film projects from African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) countries that got supported by the Aide aux cinémas du monde and/or the Fonds pour la jeune création francophone are better financed and opportunities are given to audiovisual professionals. Programs are being developed in collaboration with festivals in Europe (Cannes International Film Festival, Séries Mania, etc.) and in ACP countries (Durban FilmMart, FESPACO, Dakar Court, RFC Madagascar, etc.) to allow ACP professionals to work on their projects with experienced mentors, to deepen their knowledge of the sector and to build a real international network.
