PORTO IRACEMA DAS ARTES
Porto Iracema das Artes is the school for arts training and creation of Ceará’s state government, linked to the Department of Culture (Secult) and managed by Instituto Dragão do Mar (IDM). Since its creation, in 2013, the school conducts the CENA 15 Laboratory, conceived in collaboration with filmmakers Karim Aïnouz, Marcelo Gomes and Sérgio Machado. Dedicated to fostering the growth of Brazil’s audiovisual industry – specially in Ceará and the Northeast – the program is designed to strengthen the professional skills of screenwriters through an intensive blend of practical and conceptual training. Over seven months, participants develop fiction feature films and TV series through tutoring, workshops, masterclasses, and other training activities. The program culminates in a public pitching event, where projects are presented to local audiences and renowned industry professionals. All selected participants receive full scholarships for the duration of the program.
